About Ar. Praveen Bavadekar
Praveen Bavadekar founded Thirdspace in 2002 in his hometown of Belagavi, bringing together his global education and deep local roots. A graduate of Bangalore University and the AA in London, his work is defined by a commitment to context, complexity, and critical inquiry. His architectural approach resists binary thinking, operating instead within the rich ambiguities of Indian urbanism. He is an active educator and mentor, with a strong presence in architectural academia across India. In 2018, he co-founded The Formist Group, extending his vision into socially responsive real estate development. His multifaceted interests — from design and writing to farming and cooking — inform a practice that is as intellectually rigorous as it is grounded and humanistic.
