About Ar. Deepak Gahlowt

Ar. Deepak Gahlowt is currently working on hospitality projects, museums, real estate master plans, strategy for heritage precincts, palaces and cities.

He is an Architect and Former Member Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, with over 33 years of diverse experience in design, historical conservation, journalism, facility management, project management, sustainability, lighting design, energy efficiency, standards writing and building bye-laws drafting, advocacy, training, research, sketching and writing.

Deepak is currently with Xebec, an integrated design-build-manage company that has delivered projects in more than 240 cities across India under three verticals – consulting, design and build, and facility management.

Other than starting Xebec, he has led and worked on developing and writing standards on safe use of glass in buildings for India; standardisation of doors and window sizes; and contributed to the Energy Conservation Building Code for India (ECBC). He was also the Convener of Confederation of Construction Products and Services (CCPS) for over 9years.

He has lectured on alternate strategies to true sustainability; conducted training programs for practising architects and construction managers across India; has published and edited a respected professional journal; and written for mainstream magazines and newspapers; conceived and managed student programs over 7 schools across Delhi, teaching DIY home maintenance skills.

He has advised a range of corporations on building materials and construction processes; worked in the field of tradition and arts; and has consulted with governments, NGOs, and International Agencies.

He is a member of a range of national committees with BIS, CII, CCPS and continues to stay involved with a range of diverse activities.
