R+T Asia closed its 2026 edition with numbers that outpaced even last year’s record run, cementing its place as the region’s premier gathering point for the sun shading, door/gate, and automation industries. Held in Shanghai amid shifting geopolitical currents and a broader push by manufacturers to diversify their Asia Pacific sourcing, the show drew over 60,000 visitors, among them nearly 16,000 international buyers representing 118 countries – three more than in 2025.

Exhibitor enthusiasm matched visitor numbers. A striking 88% re-booking rate – a historic high – signalled real confidence in the platform’s long-term value. Silvio Rossetto, Sales Representative for Latam South at Coulisse BV, said the quality of this year’s visitors stood out, describing “many meaningful conversations and strong business opportunities” throughout the fair. Mustafa Uluocak, CEO at Mutex, echoed that sentiment, calling R+T Asia “the leading exhibition for our business” and the place where the company meets customers worldwide.

Beyond the show floor, networking remained the event’s beating heart. The Buyer Club topped 100 members from the Americas, Europe, South and Southeast Asia, and Oceania, joining guided sourcing tours and an expanded hospitality programme. Delegations arrived from longtime partner ACMI (Italy’s automatic door manufacturers’ association), a Singapore-based group organised by Business Review Journal, and – for the first time – a China-based Southeast Asian import/export trading delegation. Domestically, ten buyer delegations from Hangzhou, Jiaxing, and Changzhou reinforced the show’s role serving both international and Chinese markets.

For India’s sun shading, door/gate, and building automation sector, R+T Asia 2026 offers useful pointers. The show’s emphasis on integrated, connected product lines – rather than standalone hardware – signals where buyer expectations are heading, and Indian manufacturers looking to compete regionally will need to keep pace on smart controls and energy-efficient design. Equally instructive is the platform’s approach to collaboration: the Buyer Club, structured hospitality programme, and organised delegations show how a well-run sourcing ecosystem can turn a trade show into a long-term partnership engine – a model India’s own exhibitions could adapt as the domestic market matures.

On the innovation front, the floor reflected an industry in transition: integrated automation, intelligent controls, and energy-efficient connectivity dominated exhibitor showcases, alongside a surge in outdoor living products — pergolas, awnings, and multifunctional systems – as demand for low-carbon, comfort-driven building solutions climbs. Asian manufacturing is evolving in step, with buyers increasingly seeking long-term partners offering technological expertise and flexible, innovation-oriented production over pricing alone.

Looking ahead, the R+T brand is expanding further into the region with the debut of R+T Southeast Asia, set for 11–13 November 2026 in Bangkok. The next R+T Asia returns to Shanghai’s National Exhibition and Convention Centre from 26–28 May 2027.
