In modern architecture, window, door and façade systems are not merely functional building components; they directly influence a project’s architectural character, perceived quality and long-term value. High-performance glass, powder-coated aluminium profiles, stainless-steel components and decorative metal surfaces are exposed to numerous external influences from production to final project handover.

Scratches, paint and cement residues, welding and grinding splatter, dust, dirt and other mechanical impacts during transportation, storage, installation and construction can create serious quality and cost issues for high-value façade components. Such damage may result in cleaning, repair, remanufacturing, component replacement, logistics costs and delays to project completion.

Spraying

More Than 25 Years Of Surface Technology Expertise

LiquiFoil has been developed by Gratch International BV, headquartered in the Netherlands. Established in 1999, Gratch International has more than 25 years of expertise in glass renovation, surface protection, surface restoration and specialised coating technologies.

LiquiFoil is one of Gratch International’s specialised products, developed from this extensive experience in surface technology and application. Rather than attaching a pre-manufactured adhesive film to the surface, it creates the protective film directly on the surface itself.

An Intelligent Protective Layer Formed Directly On The Surface

LiquiFoil is in liquid form during application. Once applied by roller, brush or professional airless spray equipment, it cures to form a strong, flexible and continuous polymer protection layer.

The product adapts to the geometry of the surface to be protected and reduces operations associated with conventional films, such as cutting, measuring, creating joints and generating material waste around edges.

One of the key features of LiquiFoil technology is that its level of protection can be adjusted according to the application. A higher level of physical protection can be achieved by increasing the applied layer thickness, allowing the same technology to be optimised for different project conditions.

Once cured, LiquiFoil creates an effective temporary barrier through its high-strength polymer structure, resistance to mechanical impact, chemical resistance and UV stability.

Roll-On and Peel-Off

Protecting Architectural Surfaces From Construction Site To Handover

The true quality of a façade system is not assessed only on the day it leaves the factory. Its real quality becomes evident after transportation, installation and construction activity, when the building is finally handed over to the client.

The system can be used on glass, powder-coated aluminium, stainless steel, coated metal surfaces, ceramics and other suitable non-absorbent surfaces. Once applied, it forms a temporary barrier that helps protect surfaces against scratches, dirt, paint, cement residues, welding and grinding splatter, and other forms of surface damage in the construction environment.

This approach provides significant advantages in high-rise residential developments, commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, airports, shopping centres, corporate offices and large-scale curtain-wall projects.

Apply. Protect. Peel Off.

Depending on the scale of the project and the application area, the product can be applied by roller or airless spray. Its liquid form allows controlled application across different geometries, from large glazed façades to smaller window and door components.

After curing, LiquiFoil becomes a semi-transparent protective layer. It allows daylight to pass through while limiting direct visibility, particularly benefiting buildings with extensive glazing where surfaces need protection during construction without completely eliminating natural light.

Once the project is completed, or when protection is no longer required, LiquiFoil can simply be peeled away from the surface.

No Adhesive. No Residue.

LiquiFoil contains no adhesive. Rather than permanently bonding to the substrate, the protective layer cures to form a strong and flexible film. At the end of the protection period, this film can be peeled away without leaving adhesive residue behind.

For projects involving thousands of square metres of façade area, this feature offers a technical and economic benefit. The labour and time required to remove adhesive residue from windows or large façade areas can be significantly reduced.

No Adhesive. No Residue.

A Safe And Modern Formulation

LiquiFoil technology focuses on application safety as well as performance.

The product is a single-component, ready-to-use, water-based and pH-neutral system. It is non-toxic, non-flammable and VOC-free, avoiding many of the application risks associated with conventional solvent-based coating systems.

Once cured, it is resistant to external conditions such as rain and wind, while its UV-stable structure provides an important advantage for long-duration project applications.

These properties make LiquiFoil a high-performance surface-protection technology aligned with the environmental and operational expectations of contemporary construction projects.

Beyond Protection: Reducing Project Risk

Damage to a high-quality façade component after installation is far more than a simple scratch. Replacing a damaged component may require production planning, logistics, site remobilisation, removal, reinstallation and renewed quality-control procedures.

For architects, façade consultants, main contractors, project-management companies, developers and window and façade system suppliers, LiquiFoil is a preventive protection technology that helps preserve the intended quality standard until project completion.

Rather than addressing damage after it has occurred, the system focuses on reducing the risk of damage from the outset.
