Toronto’s skyline is undergoing a remarkable transformation with the emergence of an exceptional mega-project named The One – Toronto. This towering structure, reaching a height of 328.4 meters, showcases a contemporary and graceful design that embodies the distinctive brilliance characteristic of Foster + Partners, one of the globe’s most remarkable architectural firms.

Playing a pivotal role as the designated facade supplier for this venture, BM Windows will oversee the production of almost 7,000 unitized panels encompassing more than 38 distinct types. The complete facade system for the project is meticulously crafted to align with North American standards, undergoing a comprehensive assessment and approval process under the supervision of ASTM International – the respected American Society for Testing and Materials.

BM Windows subjects the entire façade system to rigorous evaluations and obtains approvals from ASTM International, the prominent standards organization. Notably, the system boasts wind pressure resistance of up to 4.0kPa, in addition to impressive attributes related to thermal insulation, waterproofing, airtightness, sound insulation, and exceptional durability. Utilizing aluminium frames with thermal breaks, top-quality glass, and auxiliary materials with minimal thermal transmission, the design enables optimum energy efficiency, even in the challenging climate of Canada where temperatures can plummet to -18°C.

Much like New York’s One World Trade Center, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, and Shanghai’s iconic tower, Toronto eagerly anticipates its own supertall skyscraper—a remarkable first not just for the city but for all of Canada. Among the select few structures globally that fulfil the supertall criterion of exceeding 300 meters in height, The One will gracefully ascend 338 meters, establishing a fresh focal point in the city’s skyline. This prestigious project stands as Canada’s tallest residential building and its inaugural supertall skyscraper as designated by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.

The mastermind behind this architectural marvel is Sam Mizrahi, the founder and president of Mizrahi Developments, who envisions it as a transformative force for both the city and the nation. Mizrahi explains, “We aimed to create a blueprint that future supertall buildings in Canada could look up to.”
