Dr. Ponni Concessao Wins the 2019 Women Icons Asia Award

Dr. Ponni Concessao of Oscar & Ponni Architects was honoured with the 2019 Women Icons Asia award at a function hosted in Singapore on May 2019. She was one among a total of 12 women achievers from across India, Malaysia, Indonesia & Singapore representing a diverse category of professions & sectors who were recognized at the 3rd edition of the Women Icons Asia Summit & Awards.

Architect Ponni Concessao is a reputed architect and her career has spanned decades devoted to design. She has undertaken award winning works that have covered all large prototypes of town planning, buildings and interiors in all parts of India. Her contributions include creating award-winning designs, authoring and publishing technical papers, architectural education, conservation, women’s rights and nation-building. She has also dedicated herself to several social causes and charity projects including building noon-meal centers, schools for the underprivileged and Tsunami housing projects.

Conceptualized and hosted by the Singapore-headquartered Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd (BERG), the event is a part of a continuing initiative to create a regional platform under the aegis of the Women Icons Network to recognize women achievers and leaders across South & South-East Asia.
