Q. Can You Walk Us Through The Company’s Journey, From Its Early Beginnings To Becoming A Significant Player In The Aluminium Extrusion Industry?

Bhoruka Extrusions’ journey reflects a strong blend of Indian legacy and global transformation.
- Early Foundations (1979–2012): Established in 1979, the company built a 45-year legacy of expertise in the aluminium extrusion industry, primarily serving the Building & Construction (B&C) and OEM sectors.
- Strategic Acquisition (2013–2019): A major milestone occurred in 2013 when the company was acquired by YKK Holding Asia Pte. Ltd., Singapore.
- Full Integration (2020–Present): In 2020, Bhoruka became a 100% subsidiary of YKK AP Inc., Japan. Today, it operates a massive 7-lakh sq. ft. campus in Mysuru with a monthly extrusion capacity of 1550 MT.
This evolution has positioned Bhoruka as a reliable partner for high-quality, customised aluminium extrusion requirements across building, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
Q. The Aluminium Sector Is Highly Competitive. What Differentiates Your Organisation In Terms Of Quality, Innovation, Or Customer Engagement?
Bhoruka differentiates itself through an integrated and technology-led approach, rather than competing only on price.
On the quality side, we operate a complete value chain under one roof—from billet casting and extrusion to anodising, powder coating, and fabrication. This gives us full control over the process and ensures consistent quality with minimal variability. At the same time, we follow global standards such as AAMA, ISO, REACH, and RoHS, supported by advanced inspection systems.
On customer engagement, we focus heavily on transparency and ease of doing business. Through platforms like Bhoruka 360°, customers get real-time visibility of their orders—from production to dispatch. Our e-catalogue also allows quick access to drawings and profiles, making the entire process faster and more efficient.
Overall, we aim to deliver what we call integrated sustainable value—combining quality, customisation, and transparency to create long-term customer trust.
Q. Since Becoming Part Of YKK AP Inc., How Has The Integration Influenced The Strategic Direction And Global Outlook Of Bhoruka Extrusions Pvt. Ltd.?
At a fundamental level, it brought in the “Cycle of Goodness” philosophy, which emphasises creating value for all stakeholders. This has moved us from a transactional approach to a more long-term, relationship-driven business mindset.
Operationally, we have adopted the Japanese manufacturing discipline of Monozukuri, with a strong focus on precision, consistency, and continuous improvement. There is also a clear shift towards delivering Total Cost of Ownership, rather than just competing on product price.
From a strategic standpoint, our vision has evolved towards becoming the preferred extruder for iconic projects, with a strong emphasis on quality, on-time delivery, and operational efficiency.
At the same time, being part of YKK AP has expanded our global outlook. We are now aligned with a system-driven approach, supporting applications in doors, windows, and façade solutions, and participating in large-scale infrastructure and high-specification projects.
Overall, this integration has transformed us from a component supplier into a value-driven solutions partner.

Q. Sustainability Is A Key Priority For Modern Manufacturing. What Concrete Steps Have You Taken To Reduce Environmental Impact And Strengthen ESG Performance?
Sustainability is a core focus for us, and we have made clear, measurable progress over the years.
On the decarbonisation front, we have achieved around an 80% reduction in CO2 emission intensity compared to our baseline. A large part of this comes from our energy transition—today, over 88% of our electricity is sourced from renewable energy, supported by our rooftop solar installation.
In terms of resource efficiency, about 32% of our water consumption is met through recycled water, enabled by in-house treatment systems.
We have also taken a leadership position in transparency—we are among the first aluminium extruders in India to publish a certified Environmental Product Declaration, which clearly quantifies our carbon footprint.
Additionally, our operations are aligned with global environmental standards such as ISO 14001, and we actively support green building frameworks such as IGBC and GRIHA.
Overall, our long-term goal is to achieve zero environmental impact across the product lifecycle by 2050, in line with our global sustainability vision.
Q. With The Rise Of Industry 4.0, Automation, And AI-Driven Manufacturing, How Are You Leveraging Technology To Enhance Productivity And Precision?
At Bhoruka, we have built a digitally integrated manufacturing ecosystem to improve both productivity and precision.
On the production side, we use an SAP-integrated e-Planner that enables automated scheduling and improves our on-time delivery performance, along with real-time visibility across operations.
From a quality perspective, we have digitized our inspection processes through systems like PDIR, which ensure traceability and consistent pre-dispatch quality checks.
On the customer side, platforms like Bhoruka 360° provide complete transparency—customers can track orders, access documents, and monitor progress through live dashboards.
In terms of design and engineering, our e-catalogue allows instant access to drawings and profiles, making selection and development faster and more efficient.

Q. How Do You Foresee The Aluminium Extrusion Industry Evolving In India And Globally Over The Next Decade?
The aluminium extrusion industry is set for strong and sustained growth, both in India and globally, driven by structural shifts in manufacturing and sustainability.
Globally, the market itself is expanding steadily, with projections indicating approximately 7% CAGR and reaching over $160 billion by 2030. This growth is largely being driven by demand from the construction, mobility, and electrical sectors.
In India, the growth story is even more compelling. The extrusion market is expected to grow at double-digit rates in certain segments, supported by urbanisation, infrastructure development, and government initiatives such as Smart Cities.
Going forward, we see five key shifts shaping the industry. The first is a strong move towards sustainability, with increasing demand for low-carbon aluminium, higher recycled content, and products aligned with green building standards. Recycling itself is becoming strategically important globally due to its energy efficiency and its role in reducing environmental impact.
The second major shift is the rapid growth of electric mobility and light weighting. As EV adoption accelerates, aluminium extrusions will play an increasingly important role in battery enclosures, structural components, and other lightweight applications that enhance efficiency and performance.
A third key area is the expansion of renewables and power infrastructure, where aluminium continues to be the preferred material due to its excellent conductivity, durability, and versatility.
At the same time, the industry is witnessing a clear transition from commodity products to engineered, application-specific solutions. In this evolving landscape, customization, precision, and technical expertise will become critical differentiators for manufacturers.
“We do not compete on price alone—we deliver integrated sustainable value through quality, customization, and complete transparency.” |
Finally, the growing adoption of Industry 4.0 and automation is set to redefine productivity, quality consistency, and supply chain efficiency. Overall, the industry is moving from being volume-driven to value-driven, where players who successfully combine technology, sustainability, and engineering capability will lead the next phase of growth.

Q. Looking Ahead, What Is Your Long-Term Vision, And What Key Priorities Will Drive Your Next Phase Of Growth?
Our long-term vision is to be the preferred partner for aluminium extrusion solutions in iconic and high-impact projects.
To achieve this, we are focused on a few key priorities. First, customer-centricity—continuing to improve reliability, on-time delivery, and transparency, while building long-term partnerships rather than transactional relationships.
Second, sustainability—we are committed to achieving zero environmental impact across the product lifecycle by 2050 by increasing renewable energy usage, improving resource efficiency, and offering low-carbon solutions.
Third, technology and operational excellence—leveraging digital systems, automation, and process improvements to enhance productivity and consistency.
Fourth, expansion into high-growth sectors such as electric mobility, renewable energy, infrastructure, and advanced building systems.
